At the 2026 NAEC Awards, SEEPCO received the prestigious, Government–Private Partner of the Year Award recognition of its strategic collaboration with government institutions to strengthen marine security, enhance the capacity of the Nigerian Navy and safeguard Nigeria’s oil and gas assets.
The 2026 edition, scheduled to hold at the Lagos Oriental Hotel under the theme, “Secure Energy, Shared Prosperity,” comes amid continuing concerns over energy costs, economic pressures and the need to ensure that petroleum sector reforms translate into measurable improvements in the lives of Nigerians.
Nominations for the prestigious ENERGY TIMES 2026 Awards will close on September 20, 2026, as the number of entries received by the organisers has climbed to 122, reflecting growing interest in the annual recognition of excellence across Nigeria’s energy industry.
The 2026 edition, scheduled to hold at the Lagos Oriental Hotel under the theme, “Secure Energy, Shared Prosperity,” comes amid continuing concerns over energy costs, economic pressures and the need to ensure that petroleum sector reforms translate into measurable improvements in the lives of Nigerians.
The company, however, clarified that the initiative is a temporary customer relief measure and does not represent a return to petroleum subsidy or a reversal of the Federal Government's market-based fuel pricing policy.
The initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy to bridge the gap between Nigeria’s available electricity generation capacity and the growing demand for dependable power from the productive sector, particularly manufacturers, industrial concerns and large commercial enterprises.
The investment will enable PowerGen to deepen its footprint in Nigeria and expand the deployment of renewable energy infrastructure for customers with limited or unreliable access to electricity.
