Sterling Oil Bags Excellence Award at NAEC Conference for Second Consecutive Year

Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) this year has received another industry recognition at the Nigerian Association of Energy Correspondents (NAEC) Annual Energy Conference and Awards, marking the second consecutive year the company has earned recognition from the prestigious association for its contributions to Nigeria’s energy sector.

At the 2026 NAEC Awards, SEEPCO received the prestigious, Government–Private Partner of the Year Award recognition of its strategic collaboration with government institutions to strengthen marine security, enhance the capacity of the Nigerian Navy and safeguard Nigeria’s oil and gas assets.

This award recognizes Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited for its exemplary collaboration with government institutions to promote security, stability, and operational continuity in Nigeria’s upstream sector.

In the energy conference and awards ceremony by NAEC, the Africa’s largest association of Energy Editors and Correspondents, the association recognized SEEPCO’s efforts in support security, stability and operational continuity within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, and the industry leaders acknowledged their effective collaboration between industry operators and government institutions remains essential to sustainable growth.

“Our partnership with the Nigerian Navy on the KALI Series Security Support Vessels, designed and built in Delta State, Nigeria, reflects this collaborative approach. The initiative supports local content development, strengthens indigenous capabilities, and enhances the protection of critical energy assets” the company stated in a statement issued on Friday in Lagos.

During the conference, the company’s goodwill message was presented by Dr Jite Orimiono, General Manager, Human Resources & Industrial Relations. He commended NAEC for providing a platform for meaningful conversations on the future of Nigeria’s energy sector. In line with the conference theme, “Access to Assets: Empowering Players and Driving Growth,” Orimiono highlighted the importance of access to energy assets in unlocking investment, strengthening indigenous participation, creating opportunities across the value chain, and driving sustainable economic growth.

He also emphasized that the growth of Nigeria’s energy sector goes beyond production to include strong partnerships, local capacity development, energy asset security, and a shared commitment to creating lasting value for communities and the nation. It further acknowledged the media’s role in fostering informed conversations, promoting accountability, and highlighting developments across the industry.
