Tegbe assumes duty, seeks stronger collaboration to drive Power Sector Reforms

The Minister of Power, Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, on Tuesday officially assumed office at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Power in Abuja, pledging to strengthen collaboration among agencies and stakeholders to accelerate reforms in Nigeria’s electricity sector.
Tegbe’s assumption of office comes a day after he was sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Speaking during his inaugural meeting with Chief Executives and Heads of Agencies and Parastatals under the Ministry, Tegbe emphasized the need for greater synergy, improved coordination, and a shared commitment to achieving the Federal Government’s objectives for the power sector.
The Minister noted that addressing the challenges facing Nigeria’s electricity industry requires collective effort, innovation, and accountability from all institutions under the Ministry.

He urged agency heads to work closely together to ensure efficient policy implementation, improved operational performance, and enhanced service delivery to electricity consumers across the country.
According to him, stronger institutional collaboration will be critical to driving ongoing sector reforms, expanding access to electricity, improving grid reliability, and attracting much-needed investment into power generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure.
Tegbe also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to providing stable and affordable electricity as a foundation for economic growth, industrial development, and improved quality of life for Nigerians.
