.Wants Discos to procure 398MW from embedded generation
The Federal Government subsidy on electricity has risen to N206.216 billion monthly from September 2024, according to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) report cited by ENERGY TIMES.

This will be N824, 864 billion by December 2024 (four months), and higher than the N628.61billion subsidies paid on electricity in the entire 2023.
NERC also mandated electricity distribution companies (DisCos) to procure a minimum of 398MW of embedded generation to enhance the reliability of power supply across the country.
