Egbin Power Plc has acknowledged a tragic incident involving a contractor during underwater maintenance operations at its plant.
The Board and Management of Egbin Power expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended heartfelt condolences to the family, loved ones, and colleagues of the deceased.
According to the company, emergency response, safety, and reporting protocols were immediately activated following the incident, while relevant authorities were promptly notified.
Egbin Power stated that it is cooperating fully with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. A comprehensive review is also underway.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel and contractors, while maintaining the highest operational standards across its facilities.
