President Bola Tinubu has approved all necessary regulatory licences for the Kolmani Integrated Development Project, a multibillion-dollar oil exploration initiative spanning Bauchi and Gombe States.
Minister of State for Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri, announced the move during the launch of the Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy’s permanent site.
The project aims to enhance oil production, create jobs, and increase revenue. According to reports, Tinubu’s administration is focused on unlocking Nigeria’s hydrocarbon potential for industrial growth.

Resumption of drilling at Kolmani River II oil field was also confirmed by NNPC Ltd, alongside plans to complete the Ajaokuta-Kano gas pipeline, driving regional and national economic development.
Just last week, the NNPC Limited chief executive officer, Bayo Ojulari, disclosed that the state-owned energy firm would resume oil drilling in the northern part of the country.
Ojulari said the suspended project would be resumed under his leadership. Northerners had expressed joy over President Buhari’s plan to turn the region into an oil-rich zone like the Niger Delta. However, the project failed to continue for undisclosed reasons.
