He disclosed that NNPC Ltd recorded an average 98 per cent recovery across its five crude oil export terminals between April 2025 and May 2026, compared with operational lows of about one per cent at the Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal in June 2022.

The meeting, taking place at the headquarters of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) in Abuja, brought together representatives of the Dangote Refinery, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and other major industry stakeholders.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Jennifer Adighije, has underscored the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in transforming operations across Nigeria’s power sector, particularly within NDPHC’s generation assets.

Aiboni, the former Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), currently serves as Asset Director at Brunei Shell Petroleum. Her appointment takes effect on August 1, 2026.

She explained that the plant was shut down in 2023 following discrepancies between metering and trading points, which prompted gas supplier TotalEnergies to suspend gas supply to the facility. The situation was further compounded by outstanding financial obligations.
