OML 30: Heritage Energy, JV Partners Commits N101bn to Community Projects, Scholarships

Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL) has disclosed that it has committed over ₦101 billion to developmental projects across its host communities under OML 30, alongside ₦217 million in scholarships awarded to 3,011 beneficiaries along with its joint venture partners.


The disclosure was made in Lagos on Tuesday during the OML 30 Media Stakeholders Engagement, where the company also revealed that community contracts valued at $66.47 million have been awarded to 300 local vendors.


Speaking at the event, General Manager, Government, Joint Venture and External Relations, Dr Adesola Adebawo, said HEOSL’s investments reflect a deliberate strategy to deliver sustainable value beyond oil production.


“We invested in people, infrastructure, digital tools and capability. Together with our joint venture partners, we aligned around a vision to run a world-class independent energy operation with the technical, commercial and financial strength required to create long-term value,” Adebawo said.


He noted that OML 30 remains one of the largest onshore assets in Nigeria, with a strong record of responsible delivery to shareholders, partners, employees and host communities.


Adebawo further disclosed that in 2024 alone, HEOSL supported 126 local content participants from indigenous companies, while providing skills training and empowerment for 237 youths and women. In addition, over ₦27 million was invested in the Industrial Training and Work Experience Scheme for students.


On healthcare delivery, he said the company supported two health facilities, which collectively provided 34,168 medical incidences of care across four local government areas.

According to him, the initiatives underscore the shared commitment of HEOSL and its joint venture partners, Nigerian Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL) and Shoreline Natural Resources Limited (SNRL), to inclusive development.


“These initiatives reflect not just corporate responsibility, but a shared commitment with NEPL and SNRL to ensure that the benefits of OML 30 extend beyond production metrics,” Adebawo added.
