The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), has emerged Energy Times’ regulatory Agency of the year 2023 financial year for its proactive role and commitment to development of Nigeria’s oil sector.
NUPRC Lagos Head, Mr Paul Osu, received the award on behalf of the NUPRC boss, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe in a ceremony held at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos on Friday.
According to the Governing Council of Energy Times Award Committee, NUPRC under the leadership of Komolafe, has become the main pivot on which the wheels of the nation’s oil and gas rotate through proactive investment friendly policies which have contributed significantly to the growth of the sector in Nigeria.
Speaking at the occasion, Osu emphasized the role of the commission in the Nigerian oil and gas industry which is to provide technical and commercial regulation to the Upstream sector.

Osu also stressed how the Commission has been issuing appropriate regulations to provide clarity for the sector and enabling the environment for business to grow.
