Nominations for the prestigious ENERGY TIMES Awards 2026 will now close on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with the number of entries received by the organisers rising to over 150, reflecting growing interest in the annual recognition of excellence across Nigeria’s energy industry.
The awards, organised by ENERGY TIMES, are designed to recognise individuals, companies, institutions and organisations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, investment, professionalism and measurable impact across the oil and gas, power, renewable energy and broader energy value chain.
With the nomination deadline fast approaching, the organisers have urged industry stakeholders who are yet to submit their entries to take advantage of the remaining window to nominate deserving individuals and organisations.
The rising number of nominations, according to the organisers, underscores the growing profile of the ENERGY TIMES Awards as a platform for celebrating individuals and institutions making meaningful contributions to the transformation and development of Nigeria’s energy sector.

According to ENERGY TIMES Publisher, Mr. Kayode Ekundayo, the nomination process was deliberately opened to encourage broad participation from industry stakeholders and to provide an opportunity to identify deserving personalities and organisations whose contributions might otherwise go unrecognised.
He explained that all nominations would be subjected to a rigorous assessment process by the relevant awards committees before the final list of winners is announced.

Ekundayo stressed that the awards are not designed merely to celebrate commercial success, but to acknowledge impact, integrity, innovation, leadership and sustained contribution to Nigeria’s energy development.
The organisers therefore called on oil and gas companies, power sector operators, renewable energy firms, government agencies, regulators, professional bodies, investors and other industry stakeholders to submit their final nominations before the September 26 deadline.
