Following Nigeria’s national grid collapse on Wednesday, electricity generation companies energised the distribution companies with 3,228MW in the early hours of Thursday.
The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) had said yesterday shortly after the incident that restoration of power to the grid was ongoing.
The operator in a statement described the system collapse as a disturbance, attributed the cause to tripping of a GenCo, resulting in a significant load drop that cascaded to other GenCos, leading to a system disturbance.
